FAQ
Common questions
What is internal audit, and does my company need it?
Internal audit gives management and the board independent assurance on risk management, controls and governance. It is valuable for any organisation that wants reliable reporting, protected assets and compliance with regulations.
Do you work with SMEs as well as large companies?
Yes. We support SMEs and multinationals across a range of industries.
What roles do you recruit for?
Finance professionals at all levels, with a focus on senior management. Candidates can get in touch through the contact form below.
Which regulators and standards govern finance and audit in Ghana?
Banks, payment providers and microfinance institutions are supervised by the Bank of Ghana, capital markets by the Securities and Exchange Commission, insurers by the National Insurance Commission, and taxes by the Ghana Revenue Authority. The Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) regulates the accountancy profession, and companies operate under the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992). We help clients understand which rules apply to them and test their controls against those expectations.
Is internal audit a requirement in Ghana?
Public sector bodies fall under the Internal Audit Agency Act, 2003 (Act 658), and regulated financial institutions are expected by their regulators to maintain internal audit and risk functions. For many private companies it is a choice, but a valuable one for boards that want independent assurance, stronger controls and better reporting.
Can you review our anti-money laundering and compliance controls?
As part of internal audit and risk work, we can assess whether your policies, procedures and day-to-day controls address obligations such as the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2020 (Act 1044), and report practical recommendations to management and the board. This is general guidance and not legal advice; we recommend legal counsel for formal opinions.
Do you work with microfinance institutions, rural banks and SMEs?
Yes. Our associates have worked in microfinance and banking technology across Ghana and other African countries, and we support SMEs as well as multinationals with audit, risk, process and project work.
Can you support donor-funded and NGO projects?
Yes. We provide project management, training and evaluation, including on European Development Fund projects, with attention to budgets, reporting and the controls donors expect.
How is candidate information protected when you recruit?
We handle CVs and personal details in line with Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). Candidate details are shared with an employer only with the candidate’s consent. See our privacy policy.
Which industries do you serve?
Our clients span energy, mining services, telecoms, consumer goods, brewing, technology and retail, from large multinationals to growing local businesses.
